Suspect sought in S. Philadelphia shooting

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - January 9, 2013

The incident occurred at 2:35 p.m. Monday along the 1600 block of South 16th Street.

Police say the victim was approached by the suspect along with two other men.

When the victim extended his hand to greet the men, the suspect pulled out a handgun.

The suspect shot the victim multiple times.

He then fled the area in an unknown direction.

Police have released surveillance video of the incident.

The Philadelphia Police Department has released the following description of the suspects:

The suspected shooter is described as a black male wearing a green jacket and a red hat.

Suspect #2 is described as a black male wearing a dark colored jacket with a striped shirt underneath, gray pants, and a green hat.

Suspect #3 is described as a black male wearing a possible gray jacket, blue jeans and a green baseball cap.
