It happened at 6:40 a.m. Thursday at West Sproul and Old Marple Roads.
The impact sent one vehicle skidding up against a light pole.
One person was trapped for a short time before first responders arrived.
Police say both drivers were wearing seat belts. Both were taken to an area hospital for observation.
Traffic was detoured around the scene as crews worked to clear the wreckage.
