22-year-old Esma Wa'Heed has been charged with Criminal Homicide, Murder, Possessing an Instrument of Crime and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.
Police say she lived in the same apartment building, Chester Apartments, as the victim, identified as 33-year-old Trinace McMillan.
McMillan's body was spotted around 5:45 a.m. Saturday outside a building on the 1200 block of West 9th Street.
