Route 30 Bypass reopens after truck crash in Coatesville

The Route 30 Bypass was closed in both directions between Route 82 and Airport Road in Coatesville, Pa. for hours because of an overturned tractor-trailer.

The accident happened shortly after 3:00 a.m. Thursday.

The tractor-trailer was travelling westbound, but then flipped into the eastbound lane.

The truck was carrying Sodium Hydroxide, which according to PennDOT is a hazardous material.

Fortunately, the material has not spilled onto the road.

One person was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

The road was reopened by mid-afternoon Thursday.
