The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports 73-year-old Frank "Bucky" Rizzuto was sentenced after pleading guilty Tuesday to theft and tampering with public records.
Rizzuto was Monessen's treasurer for 26 years before other officials noticed money missing from city accounts last year, which prompted an audit.
After money was found missing, Rizzuto was questioned by Westmoreland County detectives and even pulled $6.50 in stolen parking meter quarters from his pocket as he confessed.
Authorities say Rizzuto pocketed some change, then falsified records to show that the city collected less revenue than was actually in the meters.
Rizzuto says he's "glad it's settled."
