Published reports say one of Joe Paterno's sons is considering a run for Congress.

The Patriot-News reports that Jay Paterno is thinking about challenging Republican incumbent Glenn G. T. Thompson in Pennsylvania's 5th Congressional District in Centre County.

Paterno, who was an assistant coach at Penn State, would run as a Democrat.

Party leaders in the county say he has expressed an interest in running and plans to make a decision in about a month.

Paterno's father, the legendary Penn State football coach, was a Republican.
