2 trapped in overturned vehicle crash on Roosevelt Boulevard

Police say two people were trapped in an overturned vehicle crash in Northeast Philadelphia early Monday morning.

The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard at Bridge Street on the inner drive.

The two people had to be rescued by firefighters after their vehicle flipped over and trapped them inside.

Both victims were taken Einstein Hospital. The passenger is in critical condition.

The driver, who's also being treated, is facing criminal charges.

The names of those involved have not been released.
