It happened at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday on the southbound side of City Avenue near Old Lancaster Road.
Police arrived on the scene and shut down the southbound lanes.
Medics took the bicyclist to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
There was no immediate word on the extent of his injuries.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene as police investigated.
