Driver critical after going airborne on Roosevelt Boulevard

HUNTING PARK - November 10, 2013

The accident happened at approximately 7:52 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the male driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he attempted to make a left turn from the 4200 block of Broad Street onto the 1400 block of Cayuga.

The 33-year-old driver then lost control of the 2012 Porsche Cayenne, struck a concrete barrier, went airborne and then struck a fence.

The car then landed on its roof in the southbound lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard Extension.

The driver was transported to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.

The southbound lanes were closed until approximately 10:30 a.m.
