Teens charged in trio of armed robberies

MIDDLETOWN, Del. (AP) - November 12, 2013

Middletown Police Chief Henry V. "Hank" Tobin III tells the News Journal (http://delonline.us/1byBMRw ) that officers encountered the teens as they responded to the third robbery on Sunday and arrested the 17-year-old. The 15-year-old was arrested Monday at his home.

The boys are charged with five counts of first-degree robbery, three counts of wearing a disguise during commission of a felony and three counts of conspiracy.

Tobin says in the three robberies over the last week, the victims were robbed of cash, cellphones and other items. In each incident, Tobin says the teens brandished a handgun and wore masks, but no one was hurt.
