Police say several Temple students live in the apartment at the center of it all.
Police were called to an off-campus apartment on the 1900 block of North Gratz Street around 9:00 p.m. Friday after a neighbor reported a suspicious smell.
Police traced the smell to the basement of the 3-story apartment where they found a man they determined was a Temple student with several containers of chemicals.
The apartment was evacuated and the student taken in for questioning.
Investigators tell say hazmat teams and chemical experts were called in to determine the stability of the chemicals.
There were no injuries reported and no other homes evacuated.
The incident remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
