Fmr. Bucks County school bus driver charged with indecent assault

SOUTHAMPTON, Pa. - November 27, 2013

Police arrested 60-year-old Fred Brimmer for allegedly sexually molesting an 8-year-old boy in October and inappropriate behavior with another juvenile in 2010 and 2011.

He has also been charged with two counts of unlawful contact with a minor.

Brimmer was arraigned and sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.

Until the time of these allegations in October, he was employed as a bus driver with the Centennial School District for 43 years.

Police say Brimmer was a lifelong member of Boy Scout Troop #28, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Southampton.

Until 1996, he was a scoutmaster and later assumed a more limited role with the scouting organization.

Police say Brimmer befriended the 8-year-old through a friendship with a relative and the other juvenile through the scouting organization.

The Upper Southampton Township Police are asking anyone who may have been a victim of inappropriate behavior in relationship with Fred Brimmer to contact Det. James Schirmer at 215-364-5000 ext. 115 or email at jschirmer@ustwp.org.
