Police say 19-year-old Marquis Mebane was shot twice in the chest in the 6100 block of Walton Avenue around 12:30 a.m.
He was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police say so far they have no motive or suspects.
They are asking anyone with information to contact Philadelphia Police.
