The blaze broke out in a basement on Mechanic Avenue around 1:00 p.m.
The fire quickly spread to the first floor before firefighters brought it under control.
The freezing temperatures made it difficult to maneuver, but firefighters were able to evacuate the occupants of the home without incident.
There are no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
