The fire broke out just before 10:00 p.m. in a 2-story row house along Hope and Ontario Streets.
Firefighters arrived to heavy flames showing on the first floor.
It took crews about twenty-five minutes to get the blaze under control.
Action News was told that a 40-year-old man was taken to Temple Hospital with second and third degree burns and smoke inhalation.
So far, there is no word on what sparked the blaze.
