Officers happen upon robbery at Dunkin Donuts, arrest suspect

Philadelphia police say a man who was attempting to rob a Dunkin Donuts in the city's Olney section was scared off by the law, and quickly arrested while attempting his escape.

43-year-old Raymond Coleman was arrest on December 27, 2013 during a robbery inside the Dunkin Donuts located at 5401 North 5th Street.

Police say Coleman entered the shop wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with his hood up and drawn tight around his face. He allegedly demanded money from the store employee while indicating he was armed with a gun.

Two police officers on patrol were passing the shop when Coleman noticed them and fled without taking any money.

Police gave chase and apprehended Coleman. Further investigation revealed Coleman's alleged involvement in four additional robberies that occurred in the area.

Coleman is charged with multiple robberies and related offenses.
