Conlin had a long career as a columnist with the Daily News.
It came to an abrupt end three years ago when more than half a dozen adults accused him of having molested them when they were children in the 1970s.
One of the accusers was a niece.
Conlin was never charged because the alleged cases happened so long ago.
The 79-year-old died Thursday morning in Florida.
