School bus driver sentenced for driving drunk with kids on board

SHAMONG, N.J. - January 17, 2014

A judge sentenced Carole Crockett of Shamong to three years in state prison on Friday morning.

She pleaded guilty to driving drunk with Westampton Township Middle school students on board back in 2011.

Investigators say Crockett's blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit.

Before sentencing, Crockett's husband, John, apologized on her behalf.

"We thank God every day, every day, that no harm came to those children," he said.

Crockett's license will be revoked for seven months once she is released from prison.
