Firefighter rescued family from burning home in Hatfield

HATFIELD, Pa. - January 23, 2014

Gladwyne firefighter Carmen Conicelli Jr. spoke with Action News Thursday night.

Conicelli had just finished his shift in the morning and was driving home when he saw smoke pouring out of the second floor of a Hatfield house.

Conicelli immediately checked if anyone was trapped and he heard a father and two kids screaming.

So he kicked down the door and helped them out.

"I always dreamed about as a kid being a fireman and finally got to be able to help someone," Conicelli said.

The family was not injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
