The fire was reported around 11:22 a.m. along the 3000 block of North 9th Street.
The fire reportedly started in the upstairs front bedroom, and by the time crews arrived they were met by heavy flames.
The body of the elderly male victim was found during secondary searches of the home. His identity has not been released.
It is unclear what sparked the blaze. However, Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers said that the victim was a hoarder.
