Man shot in the face in Sharon Hill

Police say a man was shot in the face after an argument in Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania early Wednesday morning.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on the unit block of Foster Avenue.

The victim, a 39-year-old man, answered the door of his sister's home. Police say a verbal confrontation occurred with a man at the door.

The argument escalated, and the victim was shot in the face.

According to police, there was another person in the living room and the victim's sister was asleep upstairs.

The victim suffered injuries to the jaw area and was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for surgery.

His injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.

Police believe the victim and the suspect knew each other because the suspect was let into the house.

Witnesses told police they saw several people leaving the scene.

The shooting is under investigation.
