It happened around 12:20 p.m. Thursday in the northbound lanes neat exit 119.
The flames spread across the bales of hay. Firefighters arrived to find the truck fully engulfed.
No one was injured.
The blaze forced parts of Route 1 to close. The northbound lanes are still shut down as crews work to clear the truck and the hay from the roadway.
