Police locate woman in Wayne rabid raccoon attack

Authorities in Radnor Township are asking for help locating a woman who may have come in contact with a rabid raccoon.

Authorities in Radnor Township have located the woman who they believe came in contact with a rabid raccoon.

It happened at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Police were called to the Wayne Post Office on South Wayne Avenue to investigate reports of a raccoon growling and hissing at passersby.

Witnesses told officers at the scene that the animal knocked a woman to the ground, and the woman left before police arrived.

Radnor Police found the raccoon a short time later on West Wayne Avenue and euthanized it. The animal tested positive for rabies.

Authorities say the woman involved in the incident has been found and advised by the Health Department.
