The Daily Local News of West Chester reports that Chester County jurors deliberated for less than three hours before acquitting 23-year-old Tyrone Palmer of Chester.
Prosecutors had alleged that Palmer was an integral part of a conspiracy involving four other men to rob 24-year-old Jamal Scott of West Chester, who was killed in January 2013.
Defense attorneys argued that authorities hadn't proven that Palmer, who had no criminal record, knew what was going to happen and was an active participant.
Another defendant was sentenced to life in prison and two others received shorter terms; a fifth defendant is awaiting trial.
