Boyfriend arrested in Gloucester County woman's murder

WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. - March 7, 2014

Rocco Carsillo, 55, has been charged with the murder of 50-year-old Margaret Ann DePietro.

Police say both lived at the same address, 41 Highbridge Lane in West Deptford.

Carsillo was arrested late Thursday and charged with first-degree murder and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He is also facing charges because he allegedly had a weapon but was not permitted to have one because he is a convicted felon.

Investigators say Carsillo and DePietro had a relationship dating back to 2003 which allegedly included a history of domestic violence.

Police say DePietro obtained a temporary restraining order against Carsillo back in November, but it was dismissed because neither of them appeared in Family Court.

DePietro's body was found around 11 p.m. Wednesday by a family member and a friend after she failed to answer the phone.

An autopsy determined she died of multiple stab wounds.

Friends say the victim, known to them as "Peggy", suffered physical impairments as the result of a series car accidents.

They said she was the mother of twin boys who are now in their early twenties.

Carsillo is being held in default of $500,000 bail.
