Search for alleged gunman in Norristown

NORRISTOWN, Pa. - April 1, 2014

The incident occurred around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday at Kohn and Elm streets.

A witness told police a man fired a shotgun once then fled the scene running.

The witness also stated that a white Nissan Maxima was involved.

Soon after, officers located the Maxima and arrested two females and a male who were inside.

However, police learned the shooter was not in the car and had fled on foot.

The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old James Ellis Jr.

Police say Ellis was shooting at another man who was not injured.

An arrest warrant was issued for Ellis for the charges of Aggravated Assault and firearms violations.

Police believe Ellis knows he is wanted and is attempting to avoid apprehension.
