It happened at the W.C. Bryant Promise Academy at 60th Street and Cedar Avenue.
A Philadelphia School District spokesman said students have been asked to report to Anderson Elementary School on Friday for a half-day session.
Anderson is located at 1034 S. 60th Street.
There was no immediate word when Bryant Promise Academy would reopen.
The incident remains under investigation.
