The incident happened around 3:00 a.m. Thursday outside the Red Room Cafe located at the intersection of H and Cayuga Street.
According to police, the gunman followed the victim as he walked out of the bar.
They say he shot the 30-year-old man several times in the back and arms and went through the victim's pockets before fleeing in a gray Dodge Avenger.
The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Action News has learned that hospital personnel found $11,000 in cash in one of the victim's pockets while they were treating him.
There was no immediate word where the cash came from.
A search is underway for the gunman.
