The body of a man was discovered in the 2800 block of North Bambrey Street around 1:00 p.m.
Police say the decomposing body could have been there for more than three weeks.
The remains were transferred to the medical examiner's office where they found a bullet inside the body bag.
Investigators will not know how the person died until the autopsy is complete.
