It happened around 4:30 p.m. Sunday on Southbound Route 295 at exit 20 in West Deptford Township.
Police say Nissan and a Chevy collided in the southbound lanes.
The male driver of the Nissan was taken to Cooper University Hospital in critical, but stable condition.
Police say the man collapsed after getting out of the Nissan, and was not ejected as first reported.
Three people in the Chevy suffered minor injuries.
