Man critically injured in Chester shooting

CHESTER, Pa. - April 24, 2014

The shooting happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Honan and Leighman streets.

Police say someone opened fire on the occupant of a GMC SUV. That person traveled a short distance then crashed into a fence.

Paramedics responded to the scene and rushed the victim, described as a 21-year-old man from nearby Chester Township, to Crozer Chester Medical Center.

At this time no arrests have been made and police have yet to determine a motive.

This was the second shooting in the city on Thursday, which followed a very heated meeting about crime held the night before.
