They are 63-year-old Serafina Fel of Cherry Hill and 38-year-old Anna Veksler, also of Cherry Hill.
Police say they were walking to their home from a nearby drug store and were in a crosswalk at the time of the crash, but it's unclear at this point if they had the signal.
Investigators said they were treating this as a possible 'distracted driving' case, but did not release further details.
Both were taken to Cooper University Hospital. Fel was pronounced dead while Veksler was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
The driver did stop at the scene.
No charges have been filed at this time.
