SPRINGFIELD TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Police have arrested a knife-wielding man who robbed a bank near his home in Montgomery County.
The robbery occurred around 4 p.m. Monday at the Santander Bank on the 1400 block of Bruce Road in Springfield Township.
Police say a 19-year-old male suspect, who lives behind the bank, threatened the employees with a knife.
He also allegedly threatened to blow the bank up if the employees contacted the police.
The suspect then fled the bank on foot and down the railroad tracks.
The teen was located in the area of the North Hills Train Station by officers from the Abington Township Police Department.
The knife and stolen money were recovered.
Police say there were no signs of explosives discovered.
The suspect is in custody of the Springfield Township Police Department.
He is awaiting arraignment on charges of robbery and related offenses.
