Crews battle 4-story building fire in Germantown

GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- Firefighters battled an early morning fire in Germantown Saturday morning.

Crews were called out around 6:15 a.m. to the 400 block of West Chelten Avenue.

Smoke and flames were coming from a second floor apartment above the New Family Grocery Store.

Crews quickly went to work dousing the flames inside the 4-story building.

The fire was placed under control within twenty minutes.

Officials say the apartments were vacant.

The grocery store sustained water damage.

There were no injuries reported.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
