Police cruiser slams into building in Camden

A police officer was injured Thursday morning when his cruiser struck a building in Camden, New Jersey.

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- A police officer was injured Thursday morning when his cruiser struck a building in Camden, New Jersey.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of 27th Street and Sherman Avenue.

Initial reports indicate the officer lost control of his vehicle and struck a florist shop.

The officer was transported to Cooper University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

There were no other injuries reported.

The extent of damage to the building is not yet clear.
