3rd graders and 1st responders share some pizza

HUNTING PARK (WPVI) -- In the city's Hunting Park section, it was police pizza day Thursday.

3rd graders from the Steel School on Wayne avenue, were treated to a pizza party, compliments of the 39th police district.

The youngsters had a great time being served pizza and soda by the officers.

Some of the kids even got to sit on a police patrol bicycle.

This was a tasty way of hopefully ensuring that these children know, that police officers are their friend, not just some crusty guy in a uniform with a badge and a gun.
