CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- A reward is being offered to help find the suspect who shot and killed a young man who was sitting in a car in Camden.

Charles Clayton says losing his nephew to gun violence has been especially difficult.

"It's been hard it's been really hard. It's like I feel like it's even tougher than when I lost my mother when I was 16," said Clayton.

At 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday November 4, 2014, police responded to reports of gunfire in the area of 3rd and Cherry Streets in Camden.

Police arrive, they see a vehicle, and empty vehicle with a person inside unresponsive," said Detective Sheron Kee, Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Inside a white Chevy van was 24-year-old Andrew Anderson. He has been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead.

"Nobody deserves to lose their life to guns," said Clayton.

"There also was another victim who was shot, that victim once he was shot, he was able to flee away from the vehicle and get help to go to the hospital," said Detective Kee.

It's not clear how much information that victim was able to give to the authorities.

"There's surveillance all through the downtown Center City area of Camden so what we are doing is going door to door, business to business to actually try to see if anyone has actual footage of the event," said Detective Kee.

As a further incentive, the Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $1,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

All you have to do is call 215-546-TIPS (8477). All calls will remain anonymous.

"Anybody, if you know something say something. If you know anything pertaining to this case speak up, speak out," said Clayton.
