A home builder that does big business in our area is now facing serious allegations that it failed to do right by its customers.

WARRINGTON TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- The Charrans' Bucks County home was built by The David Cutler Group, which claims to be "the largest privately held residential builder in the Delaware Valley," and have "meticulous attention to detail."

The Charrans paid a premium for stucco - a decision they tell us they now regret.

"The problem we're experiencing is the stucco isn't up to code in terms of its thickness and it wasn't hung correctly on the home," said Eric Charran of Warrington, Pennsylvania.

Left untouched, Eric Charran says his home will essentially rot from the inside out.

That's what allegedly happened to a Cutler home in the Reserve at Knapp Farm community in Montgomery County.

The homeowner is one of 79 in the development to sue Cutler.

Action News obtained video of the home being remediated or fixed.

The cost of this kind of work?

"We've gotten estimates from the $84-100,000 range," said Charran.

And a warning for all homeowners with stucco - this can be an invisible problem.

Charran says he checked the moisture levels in his home back in 2014 only because he knew his neighbors were having issues.

"It's really unfair. We've been dealing with this for a long time," said Charran.

The Pennsylvania Attorney General has now filed this lawsuit against The Cutler Group, alleging defective construction and misrepresentations to customers.

"The goal of the lawsuit is No. 1 to provide some kind of relief for consumers," said Sarah Frasch.

Charran is hopeful.

"They will use this as a really nice and a great opportunity to come back and really take care of their customers," said Charran.

Action News contacted The Cutler Group on Thursday, but did not get a response.

If you believe you've been harmed by The Cutler's Group's business practices, the Attorney General wants to hear from you.
