'Bachelor in Paradise' ends with an engagement and some breakups

NEW YORK -- This is it, finale night! We've seen couples grow together and fall apart and this was the last "Bachelor in Paradise" of the season. Fresh off the Kirk and Carly breakup the group was worried about the status of their own relationships. Everyone was wondering if Carly didn't see that breakup coming, maybe there was a breakup on the horizon for them too. Four couples remained with overnight dates planned for that week.

Justin wants to ask Cassandra to go on the fantasy suite date, but she confides in Samantha that she's nervous about things going too fast between them.

Tenley was jotting down ideas in a journal and she says that she doesn't want to end things with Joshua but apparently she's a bit conflicted about their relationship.

Samantha and Nick shared a late evening dinner together and Nick just chatted away while Samantha sat there stone-faced. She told him that she was there for sincere reasons and they shared a kiss. He called their relationship a dream come true and he was happy to share the fantasy suite with his dream woman.

Justin and Cassandra had a very deep conversation about breaking their walls down and things seemed very romantic between the two of them. Justin wants her to accept his offer of a fantasy suite, but Cassandra thought that a fantasy suite would be inappropriate for her. He didn't know if that meant that she wasn't that into him, or if she just wanted to take things slow. So, they retired to their separate rooms.

Tenley and Joshua had a very honest conversation where she admitted that she feels protective of both of their hearts and doesn't want heartbreak for either of them. Joshua said he wants to try a relationship outside of paradise. Tenley said that she wants to give the relationship a chance. They did stay together in the fantasy suite.

Jade and Tanner had a very romantic date and of course they decided to stay in the fantasy suite. Wild horses couldn't have held them back from that room! He told her that he feels very strongly about her and he revealed that he loves her 100%! Jade said that it felt really good to hear that and she said that he gets her and she loves him too! It was the sweetest moment!

Jade and Tanner woke up the next morning in love although Jade is still a little worried that it's their last day in paradise and she's not sure who will stay together and who will break up. Chris Harrison showed up and told them that giving roses to each other that night would mean that they want a life outside of the show with each other. Chris Harrison added, "There is nothing worse than an empty promise." He's right! Hopefully, the couples will take his advice and be honest with each other.

Tenley and Joshua had a serious talk in the woods where she told him that she wasn't sure if she could continue things because their lives might not match up. She really likes him but told him she might not even be able to see him until September because of how far apart they live, and this show was taped earlier this summer so that would be quite a while.

Justin headed to the platform of truth and stood there waiting for Cassandra. He told her that he feels like they have a strong foundation for something in the future and he thinks she's beautiful on the inside and outside, and he offered her the rose. She said yes! She offered him her rose and he said yes! Although very new, this could be the start of something special!

Nick was up next. He waited for Samantha and he really wasn't sure what to expect but he dove right in when she arrived and said that he's "prayed" to meet a woman like her and he wanted to know if she would leave paradise with him. She told him that he's her "Prince Charming" and she said yes! I'm surprised that they decided to stay together!

Joshua went into the rose ceremony feeling confident and he hoped that Tenley would be open to having a relationship in multiple states. Joshua gave a sweet speech about how he genuinely wants to try a relationship with Tenley outside the show. Tenley told him that he's an amazing man and he's restored hope for her to be able to have a great love and to find a man who is kind, caring, attentive, and affectionate. She just couldn't get past the fact that he's from Idaho and she's in LA. She just thinks it would be too hard and that they would end up resenting each other. They walked off hand and hand, but roseless. She got in a car, he got in another one, and I think Tenley maybe should have given this a shot! Joshua even teared up in his car!

Tanner waited for Jade and he seemed confident and nervous at the same time. Jade told him that she wants to work on their future together and that she loves him so much! She gave him the rose and they kissed. He picked up the rose and told her that all he was expecting was "free drinks and fun on the beach, but then I met you," he said he couldn't give her the rose, because what they have is worth so much more than a rose. He said it was worth "a million roses". He got down on one knee and pulled out a HUGE diamond ring! He asked her to marry him and Jade said YES!

The two couples who accepted each other's roses cheered from the balconies above! He did finally offer her the final rose and she said yes to that too. They were so happy!

At the end of the show, they had some hilarious semi-true updates about the cast mixed with outtakes. Then it was back to a montage of Jade and Tanner's relationship together. They are planning on moving in together and ARE planning on having their wedding next summer in MEXICO!

On "After Paradise" Sean and Catherine Lowe showed up to weigh in on the season. They shared their happiness for Jade and Tanner and how bad they felt for Carly and Kirk. Tenley appeared and said that there were too many lifestyle differences between her and Joshua to make a relationship work.

Joshua called in and said that he's doing ok with their breakup. Amber also called in and said that she heard from Samantha that she and Nick are doing well in their relationship still!

So apparently Cassandra and Justin broke up and she met up with Jonathan and now they are dating! What?! Talk about a surprise relationship out of the blue! It's too bad they were on this season but just at different times! Justin called in and he congratulated the new couple and said that they are still friends but life basically got in the way. Jonathan and Cassandra have been dating for a month and so far things are going well. Chris Harrison was a little too excited about this; you would have thought they were getting married or something!

Carly came out and everyone hugged her and told her they loved her. She said that she really didn't think that they would break up because he said that he wanted to meet her family and that he had a house in the suburbs with room for her! That would be very shocking and she still stands by her reaction. He even wrote her a song, so she wrote one back to him and sang it for him. Of course they made her watch it back and it was so hard for her!

Kirk then joined Carly on stage and he started to talk. He told her that it was good to see her and said that he was truly sorry for hurting her. He said that if he could go back and do things differently he would. He said that her saying she runs at the first sign of a red flag really resonated with him. He regretted not saying something to her sooner, but he was afraid that expressing his doubts would have ended their relationship sooner and he didn't want it to end yet. He apologized again and she said that she thinks he is a good guy and he was just following his heart, but you shouldn't mislead someone.

Jade and Tanner came out with the news that they are still happily engaged and even happier than they were on the show! They have been having secret meetings together and she's super excited to be able to wear her engagement ring in public! She said that she's even started a wedding Pinterest board and is sending ideas to Tanner, isn't that funny?! In fact, 86% of viewers think that Tanner and Jade will get married before Kaitlyn and Shawn will. Chris Harrison and Jenny his cohost gave Tanner and Jade robes with their tabloid name "Janner" on the backs of them. They also gave the happy couple a week-long vacation in Puerto Vallarta so they could keep their love fire burning!
