Kendall is happy her grandmother Rita Lovato is okay now.

Early Wednesday morning, the fifth grader woke up to a startling noise while sleeping at Lovato's house.

The 72-year-old had suffered a major heart attack.

Kendall called 911 and followed directions to start CPR. Fortunately, she already knew the basics from her grandmother.

"My brain just said I had to do it. My nana, she taught me when I was little, just in case it happens to my papa," said Kendall.

When paramedics arrived, they had to restart Lovato's heart four times.

They told her family there's no way they could have revived her, without Kendall's quick action.
