A deaf girl's emotional reaction after receiving cochlear implant

Melissa was born deaf in both ears. Using a hearing aid in one ear for a number of years, she successfully learned to talk. Unfortunately, Melissa's hearing deteriorated as the years went on and she began to fall behind in class.

Worried that she might never enjoy music again, Melissa had a cochlear implant installed. She was nervous, but she got the implant because she had doubts about the future of her hearing quality.

When the activation was successful, she burst into tears of enjoy, exclaiming, "Wait, this sounds so good! ... It doesn't sound funny at all!"
