Flu shots especially important for kids with asthma

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- If your child has asthma, getting them a flu shot is especially important.

Researchers in Canada found the flu and other respiratory viruses can trigger an asthma attack for two-thirds of kids with moderate asthma.

And it seems medication to treat the attack doesn't always work as well.

Because we have a vaccine for the flu, doctors say getting kids vaccinated helps protect their lungs.
