Fatal shooting victim identified in Kensington

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- A 38-year-old man who was shot and killed in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood has been identified.

The shooting occurred around 1:42 a.m. Thursday on North Front Street near Indiana Avenue.

Luiz Padilla was shot multiple times and rushed to Temple University Hospital by police. He later died.

Witnesses told police the suspect was wearing a dark hoodie and was seen fleeing on foot heading westbound on Indiana Avenue.

Police are checking area surveillance cameras for more information.
