BRICK TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A fast moving storm system caught drivers off guard in New Jersey Tuesday.

Rescuers pulled a man and his two children to safety after they were caught in a flash flood along Princeton Avenue in Brick Township.

Ralph Reo of Point Pleasant told Action News he was on his way back from a funeral when it started pouring.

"It didn't seem that high. I guess it was deceiving. The rain came so fast," Reo said.

Reo says the water reached as high as the passenger side door and spilled into the car.

No one was injured.

Firefighters say drains clogged with debris and leaves led to the rising waters.
