FRESNO, Calif. -- A California resident, fed up with water wasting, is now taking matters into his own hands.
Water flowed down the gutter from Keith Tice Park in Northeast Fresno early Saturday. Neighbor Mike Walker says he saw the water gushing from 9 p.m. Friday and called the city. On Saturday morning, the water was still flowing, so he decided to hook up a pump and water his lawn.
In this drought, restrictions have been put on Californians. Walker says he's upset because he feels other agencies should also follow suit.
"They're real quick to tell you you're under warning because you're watering on the wrong day, but yet there's hundreds of thousands of gallons going down the street right into the gutter, so I decided to put a pump out, take advantage and water my yard," said Walker.
Walker says he'll continue to water his lawn and plants until the wasted water stops.
