TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- A freon leak has prompted an evacuation at the Justice Complex in Trenton.

The leak was discovered before 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.

The Trenton Fire Department, the Department of Environmental Protection and associated hazardous materials teams responded to the scene, and the building was evacuated.

Officials determined the substance that was leaking is freon, the cooling agent in air conditioning units.

Officials say the leak has been contained, and fresh air is being brought into the building, but contaminant levels in the building are above acceptable levels.

No one is being allowed in the building.
