MAYFAIR (WPVI) -- The SUV used by a family to transport a child with cerebral palsy, that was stolen earlier this week, has been found.

The Dodge Durgano was located on the 5100 block of Leiper Street on Thursday morning. It was damaged and some items were missing, police said.

The search for whoever stole it continues.

The child, 8-year-old John Webb III of Mayfair, relies on a walker and a wheelchair to get around.

His family relied on the SUV to get him around to school and doctors' appointments.

8-year-old John Webb III of Mayfair, stricken with cerebral palsy, relies on a walker and a wheelchair to get around.

"Between St. Chris', school, taking him to school, just mainly for his appointments and stuff like that," John's father John Webb II told Action News on Wednesday.

But last Tuesday around 3:30 a.m., someone stole the SUV from outside their home in the 2800 block of Larder Street.

"I don't know why they're targeting me, we're good people. I've always helped people out. I don't know why somebody would target me to do something like this especially [my son,]" Webb II said.

"He doesn't deserve this; he doesn't do anything to anybody. I don't understand why anybody would do something like that to a child," mother Melinda Mufalli said.

Anyone with information should contact the Philadelphia Police Department.
