Man shot and killed in North Philadelphia ID'd

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A 22-year-old male found shot multiple times inside a vehicle has been identified.

Johnathan Tavares was shot in the chest at 26th and Toronto streets.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Numerous 911 calls came in after 4 p.m. Monday for shots fired, and a person with a gun on the 3000 block of North 26th Street.

The Action Cam showed a damaged car and a dented utility pole at the intersection.

Police discovered Tavares inside that vehicle. .

They are searching for a suspect.

No arrests have been made.
