Bear opens Rhode Island woman's car door while she is inside

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WPVI) -- A black bear tried to go hitchhiking in Rhode Island, giving a driver quite a scare.

Brenda McCloskey said a bear opened her car door as she was inside Tuesday.

She said she was able to shut it from the inside and keep the animal out.

The bear began clawing and biting at the door until police sirens scared the beast away.
