Still looking for the perfect 2015 calendar? What could be better than 12 months of adorable puppies and kittens? How about 12 months of adorable puppies and kittens being tenderly cuddled by unbelievable gorgeous firefighters? Best of all, the entire thing is for charity.
Firefighters in South Carolina took a break from their daily heroics to help the Charleston Animal Society with its 2015 Charleston Firefighter Calendar. Proceeds go to Toby's Fund, which provides medical care for injured, abused and abandoned animals. Last year, the calendars raised over $100,000, and this year's calendar has already sold more than 6,000 copies.
"We were looking for a fun and unique way to raise money and awareness," Caroline Eller, director of development for the Charleston Animal Society, said in a press release. "We rescue animals, firefighters rescue humans, it was a natural fit!"
The calendar has been a hit with animal lovers, firefighter fans and those just looking to support a good cause. The Charleston Animal Society has received orders from as far away as Hong Kong, Australia and South Africa, according to ABC affiliate WCIV.
In addition to a year's worth of photos of handsome heroes and too-cute pets, the calendar is also has interactive features including interviewing with the firefighters and behind-the-scenes videos.
